Choosing the right car seat or booster seat is crucial for your child’s safety.

The Middleton Fire District Car Seat Technicians check car seats on an appointment-only basis. Once we have received your request, a certified car seat technician will get in touch with you. If you need an alternative resource, you may visit Safe Kids Wisconsin for a list of additional places for car seat checks.

There is no fee for the car seat check. Donations are accepted and can be made payable to Middleton Fire Company No. 1.

• Please bring your car seat manual, vehicle manual, and child along with you, if possible. An additional adult to care for the child/ren is helpful when we work.
• Plan for 30-60 minutes to check seats and fit them to your child and vehicle.
• If you are expecting a baby, it is best to schedule your appointment for at least one month prior to the anticipated due date.
• If anyone in your household is ill, please do not schedule an appointment. If you already have an appointment, kindly reschedule.
• Car seat checks are typically scheduled on Sunday afternoons.
